The new Huawei Watch 2.
In another article, I told you about the Apple Nike smartwatch.
To flirt with girls, you need to have style, class to be noticed by girls.
People have to envy you, not pity you, forget about smartphones with a broken screen, a watch that looks cheap, etc…
On my website, I try to tell you about high tech products that are cool and that you can buy to improve your look to better flirt and seduce girls.
So here is the new Huawei smartwatch, the Huawei Watch 2.
Huawei already makes very good smartphones, it was logical that they would make cool smartwatches.
- Huawei Watch 2 – Design and finishing.
The Huawei Watch 2 has two aesthetically different versions, but they share the same name: Huawei Watch 2.
The normal model, the Huawei Watch 2, with a more sporty design and classic style, with a leather strap that I unfortunately could not test.
The differences with the casing of the sports model are more than significant visually.
The Huawei Watch 2 has a rather imposing design.
The first Huawei Watch featured an elegant metal case with a fine frame and chic details.
Clearly, this is not to be found in the second edition.
The new Huawei Watch 2 is reminiscent of G-Shock watches from the 90s.
The plastic used is not necessarily of very high quality, and the bracelet could be softer, but the bracelet can be easily changed. Its black color is finally a bit boring but has the merit of being classic.
Bracelets can be removed easily.
Thanks to the IP68 certification, the Huawei Watch 2 is well protected against water, as was the previous model. That does not mean that you can go swimming with it. Good news, this certification also applies to the LTE model thanks to a protection for the NanoSIM card.
Watch bracelets can be changed easily.
There are a multitude of variants and materials, but initially Huawei opts for those mentioned above.
There will even be a Porsche edition but I do not have much information about it.
Huawei uses an AMOLED screen with a 1.2-inch diameter and a 390 x 390 pixels resolution (1.4 inches and 400 x 400 pixels for the first Huawei Watch).
The watch therefore has dimensions rather compact, which should not pose problems for sportsmen.
That said, it is not more compact than the previous model, on the contrary all dimensions are higher, this is related to the technology used.
The screen of the Huawei Watch 2 is quite clear and does not display the green tone of the first Huawei Watch.
The contrast is pretty good and the pixels are visible only if you approach the watch closely.
During my test, I encountered some problems with automatic brightness.
The screen was sometimes too dark or too bright for the situation.
In dark environments, such as a movie theater, the watch can give the impression of being a flashlight.
The screen is small but readable.
- Huawei Watch 2 – Other Features.
Huawei placed in this Watch 2 a GPS sensor.
In addition, there is a version compatible with 4G, in this one you can forget the classic eSIM, it works with a NanoSIM as in your smartphone. The watch obviously offers WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC connections.
For sport, you have the possibility to calculate the maximum oxygen consumption.
Of course, you will also find a pedometer and a sensor to measure your pulse.
If you want to use a chest belt, you can connect it directly to Bluetooth with your Huawei Watch 2 and use it in the fitness application, this is possible thanks to Android Wear 2.
Two buttons but no rotating bezel.
The second button of the watch has no function.
When you press it for the first time, press it a first time and it will ask you what you want to use.
We do not find on this Huawei Watch 2 the bezel of Samsung watches that allows to navigate menus and zoom on the cards, but it is not a functionality that is really lacking.
- Huawei Watch 2 – Software Interface.
Android Wear 2 is installed by default on the Huawei Watch 2.
This new operating system for connected watches is based on Android 7.1.1 and has new features compared to the previous model.
On the front line, I can mention the independence to the smartphone as well as a Play Store on the watch.
Android 7.1.1 is the basis of Android Wear 2.0 on the Huawei Watch 2.
With Android Wear 2.0, you do not have a great “OK Google” on the screen.
Everything is more discreet.
It is convenient to activate functionality from the screen such as measuring the heart system or starting a workout.
- Huawei Watch 2 – Performances.
The memory has been improved by half, we now have 768 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory.
Apart from that, little has changed.
Performance improvement is essentially due to the new system.
As a general rule, the Watch 2 is among the fastest smartwatches.
Thanks to the NanoSIM card, it is possible to connect the watch in 4G.
- For a sporty use, the watch is rather not bad.
The GPS signal is not as fast as on a smartphone or on other smartwatches but it has the merit of being stable.
However, the accuracy could be a bit better.
The pulse measurement is fairly inaccurate, like the majority of smartwatches anyway.
This is enough to control your heart’s measurement on a daily basis and to give you an idea during your efforts but it is not as complete as with fitness trackers or a belt to the chest.
- Huawei Watch 2 – Sound quality.
Like the previous models, this Huawei watch features a speaker.
This means that it is possible to make calls without a smartphone and without earphones, as long as it is accepted that conversations are accessible to everyone.
Via Bluetooth headsets, the experience is equal to what you can have with a smartphone.
- Huawei Watch 2 – Autonomy.
Huawei had given information about autonomy rather encouraging, or even too good to be true.
“Up to 3 weeks of autonomy with a simple use of watch”, that was what was entrusted in the press conference, as well as ten hours in “training mode”.
For “normal use”, the autonomy should be two days.
In reality, if you keep the SIM CARD activated, the Huawei Watch 2 needs to be charged every night.
You can save energy by turning off the pedometer and activating the smartwatch only with the physical button (not by turning the wrist).
However, this last solution deprives you of the advantages of a smartwatch and one wonders if it is useful to have invested all this money.
In the end, this watch does not bring any revolution and you will always have to be careful if you want to wear your smartwatch two days in a row despite its battery with a capacity of 420 mAh.
Recharging the Huawei Watch 2 is easy.
Finally, be aware that the device is charged with a Pogo Pin connector similar to those found on the previous models.

- Final verdict.
The Huawei Watch 2 is an enhancement of the model released in 2015.
4G and GPS are interesting additions, the second button is practical in everyday life.
The watch also benefits from Android Wear 2.0 but the first model will also have an upgrade to the new system.
This new smartwatch from Huawei offers to the overall pleasant performances and new nice features that can make you buy it!
The watch has some minor flaws, such as brightness control and GPS inaccuracy, but in general they are forgiven by the worry-free operation of the Huawei Watch 2 on a daily basis.
It’s a nice looking smartwatch.
- The main competitor for the Huawei Watch 2 is the LG Sport smartwatch.
I will write an article about the LG Sport Watch soon.
The Huawei Watch 2 will clearly attract girls attention when you will flirt and talk to them.
